Overnight Oats - Basic Recipe Ratio
One of the easiest things you can meal prep ahead to save you time in the morning. Simply a 2:1 ratio of liquid to oatmeal that can be spiced, sweetened, and topped any way you want.
Our favorite base recipe is the following:
Allow the first three ingredient to sit overnight under refrigeration.
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup milk product
1 tsp cinnamon or allspice (optional)
Top and stir in remaining ingredients in the morning when you are ready to eat.
1 tbsp liquid sweetener of choice (honey, agave, maple syrup)
1/2 cup fresh fruit like berries, banana, figs, or apples
It's that simple. You can use old fashioned oats or quick cooking oats.
DO NOT use steel cut oats because they will be way too chewy.
